Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre have achieved their highest ever score in Royal Life Saving’s annual Aquatic Facility Safety Audit, retaining their 5-star rating amongst Aquatic Facilities in NSW.
On Thursday 7 March, Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre underwent an annual assessment in which considers pool supervision practices, compliance in administration and documentation including risk assessments, operations manuals, qualification compliance and policies and procedures, facility design and maintenance and various other operations elements.
The Centre achieved an outstanding score of 98%, ranking slightly higher than their achievement of 94% in 2018. As a premier facility within NSW, patrons can feel reassured knowing that they are in safe hands when visiting the Centre.
Scott Vanderheyden, Centre Manager said “This could not have been achieved without the hard work and attention by everyone in the team to continually improve and implement safe strategies to ensure that the community can enjoy our Centre and be safe every day.”
