Following on from the successful Australian Age campaign, COSAC has recorded more incredible results at the recent senior Australian Swimming Championships.

9 Swimmers traveled to Adelaide supported by Head Coach Rebecca 'Bec' Wheatley and Team Manager Karen Swinburn. During the 5 days of competition, the team achieved:

  • 1 Silver medal (Men's 4 x 200m Freestyle relay)
  • 4 top 10 A finals (Stuart Swinburn 200m Backstroke, Men's 4 x 100m Medley relay, Men's 4 x 100m Freestyle relay, Mixed 4 x 100m Medley relay)
  • 5 top 10 Age finals (Lachlan Sheehy 800m and 1500m Freestyle, Mela Delmenico 200m Freestyle and Medley and Alex Thompson 400m IM).

To cap off the meet, 3 swimmers were selected on the NSW target squad, and COSAC swimmer Marcus Da Silva was selected as one of 32 swimmers on the Junior Australian Team to compete at the Junior Pan Pacific Championship in Hawaii in August. Marcus is one of the youngest swimmers on the team.

COSAC's own Head Coach, Bec Wheatley (pictured) was also selected as one of seven coaches on the team.

The Junior Australian team will travel to the gold coast for a week on a staging camp prior to travelling to Hawaii.

Photos and results are also on the COSAC Instagram and Facebook pages. The club is currently the biggest it has ever been with 226 swimmers, and is achieving its best results.
