Due to the Sydney Half Marathon that will be held on Sunday 5 May 2024, there will be limited access to the centre in the morning between 5:00am and 10:00am.

 Surrounding local roads will be closed during this time, including; Pirrama Rd from Harris St to Darling Island Rd, Bowman St, Refinery Drive, Harris St.  

There will be no access to the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre car park between 5am and 10:00am.

We recommend using public transport if you are traveling to the centre during the event. Our centre is a short walking distance  from Exhibition Centre station on Sydney’s Light Rail.

Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre is celebrating its 15 year anniversary this month!

Signage will be positioned in-centre displaying impacted  facilities and directing to available alternatives.     

Maintenance works will be taking place in the men's gym change room facilities from Monday 15 January to Saturday 20 January 2024.

All fees and charges are reviewed annually, and applicable increases take effect from the start of the new financial year on July 1.

Four lanes remain available in the 50m pool for lap swimming. 

There is a carnival taking place in-centre today between 12pm - 3pm (Thursday 4 April)

Directional signage and traffic control will be present to assist with directing traffic during this period.

Access into the Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre carpark will be re-routed via Quarry Street on Thursday 15 May and Saturday 18 May from 7pm.

Celebrating NSW Seniors Festival 2024

Extended opening hours commencing on Saturday 1 October

During this time, the  lift access to level 1 will be impacted and the external  entry to the gym will not be accessible. 

There will be scheduled maintenance from Friday 1 March to Sunday 3 March.

The 50m pool and leisure  pool remain open. 

The program pool is currently closed for maintenance. 

The steam room is currently closed for maintenance.

From Monday 18 to Wednesday 20 September, from 8pm to 11pm, buses will replace all L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill due to planned trackwork & maintenance works. 
During this time, no L1 light rail services will run.

 The learn to swim and squad programs will not run, and group fitness will run on a limited timetable.  

Alternate operating hours will be in place for the public holiday on Friday 26 January.

The leisure pool is currently closed for maintenance. 

We encourage patrons to use alternate methods of transport during this period.

Due to scheduled events, there will be restricted access to the centre on Sunday 5 May.
