Essential maintenance works are scheduled to take place at Ian Thorpe Aquatic Centre in April 2024.
Impacted facilities include;
- Program pool: 11 to 12 April 2024 (two days)
- Leisure pool: 22 to 24 April 2024 (three days)
During each of the scheduled maintenance periods, the listed facilities will be closed, however, the 50m pool will remain open per regular operating hours.
Regular programs including learn to swim and group fitness will be delivered in alternative facilities within the centre, including;
Learn to swim
Classes that regularly take place in the program pool on 11 and 12 April, will run as scheduled, in the following pools;
- Morning classes will move to an allocated lane in the leisure pool
- Note, allocated space will remain available to the general public
- Afternoon classes will move to the following facilities;
- Primary 2 levels will move to the 50m pool
- Primary 1 and Pre-school 1 and 2 levels will move to an allocated lane in the leisure pool
Group fitness – aqua aerobics
The regularly scheduled Friday 1pm warm aqua aerobics class will change to a shallow aqua class in the 50m pool on Friday 12 April.
All other aquatic facilities will operate per regular opening hours during the scheduled maintenance period.
